Message I bought my sapphire blue 300zx TT new in 1992 but after the AC and radio failed and it started to run rough, I bought a different daily driver and it basically sat for the last 10 years. Last summer my wife told me to get the car running or get rid of it so back in August I found this forum while trying to figure out what might be causing my car to run rough. I read a ridiculous amount of great information here, discovered it was likely the injectors and contacted a few members with questions about where to get some help fixing the car. That search eventually led me to BAM Automotive and Tony Myrie, a Nissan Master Tech and Z specialist here in the Philadelphia area. Along the way I found other great people too and learned way too much about advancements in aftermarket parts and revitalizing a 20 year old car. Once the engine compression was tested and the results ranged from 158 to 165, we started on a project over the winter that took the car from stock to thrilling.

The power mods came by way of consulting with Greg Dupree and the major components were purchased through Specialty Z. All vendors got parts out quickly. I was particularly impressed with Greg and SZ, Joe Allison of Zspeed Performance, Brett of BDE and Joe Lala of Dewla Dezign. Good people with good products. I appreciate the many members who took time to answer my questions and I only got screwed by one guy through the classifieds but Paypal refunded the money in full.

Old to new...

Everything about this car was done right thanks to a smart and meticulous Nissan Z specialist using mostly oem parts and newer products developed by innovators. It runs rather well. Greg likes to refer to these cars with modified pipes as “breathers” for obvious reasons but there are other mods that make it special as well. To me it’s a Z32 “Innovator” edition. I believe it will make a difference down the road both in reliability and in value to have bought parts from those who created them and having a perfectionist like Tony Myrie put it all together. Before I am accused of drinking the the koolaid, I own a business and try to protect my intellectual property and business methods as able. I get it.

Now if one of you will just sell me the JL Stealthbox I’m looking for through the classifieds I can finish up this project…at least for now.
